WASAT(Water And Sanitation Appropriate Technology) center has been opened in Hanoi, Vietnam to address challenges in clean drink water and sanitation. WASAT, located on the campus of National University of Civil Engineering, held its official opening ceremony on 22 March, 2018, following the World Water Day. The work of the WASAT center is funded by National Research Foundation of Korea under Ministry of Science and ICT.
WASAT is led by Sustainable Water Management Center(Chief: Prof. Mooyoung Han) of Seoul National University, whose expertise is founded in rainwater management and water saving/resource recycling sanitation system. It is dedicated to developing technologies suited to local culture and geographical conditions and piloting the solutions. It also commits to providing relevant education for diverse social groups including students, professionals and public officials. In doing so, it closely works with Institute of Environmental Science and Engineering(Chief: Prof. Nguyen Viet Anh) of National University of Civil Engineering and cooperates with different networks and institutions as well.
